BIOGRAPHY &
PERSONAL STATEMENT

Hello, I'm Angelica! I graduated and received a Masters of Science (M.S.) in Instructional Design from Grand Canyon University. I also received my Bachelor of Music (B.M.) in Music Education from Kean University in May 2020. Currently, I have four years of teaching experience as an elementary school music teacher.

Throughout my studies at Grand Canyon University, I have created multiple instructional design artifacts, ranging from eLearning and microlearning courses to professional job aids. I also had the opportunity to design, implement, and evaluate an original instructional solution about singing technique and vocal strain prevention to a small group of my fifth grade students who were my target audience. Using my instructional resources, students learned about vocal anatomy, singing technique, and protecting the voice against strain while fulfilling all curriculum requirements for the music program.

My passion for instructional design evolved from my experience with teaching during the pandemic. Having exposure to various educational platforms and instructional websites opened doors to new opportunities with the teaching field, which sparked my interest in pursuing instructional design. Teaching and instructional design closely relate, as there are so many opportunities to educate audiences of different backgrounds. I enjoy working with technology and have goals to become an aspiring instructional designer for the educational and corporate world.
